Cake & Me.
It's been a long road, a road full of color and flavor, tens of thousands of eggs, and my grandmothers wooden spoon I use for everything. We are finally here, and it's such a pleasure to finally meet you. Big Fish has been a dream for years, but life showed us in funny ways that it's now time to do what we love most.
After receiving my degree in Baking & Pastry Arts from the Culinary Institute of America, I jumped right into the pastry world. I spent five years years as Pastry Chef at The White Barn Inn located in southern Maine. I pushed my boundaries as much as I could, continued to work on my technique, until another opportunity arose. The twist? I grew the ladder of the salty side of the kitchen, and have been cooking savory for the last five years in some of the leading restaurants in our area. A challenge I will forever be grateful for, because it led me back to what I loved, what I was missing, and what I have dreams about at night. Cake. As an at home artist and painter, I've struggled progressing my skills. That was until I realized I could be working with much more familiar mediums. I took my designs to cake, and created a new canvas to share my color of life.
The name is dear to my heart, a hard loss of my role models, my biggest fans, always surrounding us with love, strength, and wisdom, the 'big fish' of the family. Like the big fish in our lives, we are here to fulfill your larger than life cake wishes for your most important events. They are here with me every step I take, but now I am fearless in my journey to make them proud.
